I unified a coalition of partners (including Amos Lee, Melodic Caring Project, Quantum Interface, SubVRsive) to architect the “first-ever LIVE VR concert experience for patients battling serious illness.” This was a feat of strategic orchestration: the vision was so compelling that I galvanized a cross-industry alliance to contribute expertise and resources pro-bono, manifesting a high-fidelity pilot entirely through influence.
The project became a primary 5G Policy Use Case, showcased at the FCC Expo by AT&T to advocate for 5G infrastructure. I strategically proved that medical-grade Distraction Therapy required 5G’s performance benchmarks. AT&T featured the project in their Innovator Series, profiling me as “the Spark” driving company-wide 5G innovation.
Clinical testing with bedridden patients led to a supine-calibration breakthrough, allowing patients to reset their VR horizon line while lying flat.
Key Impact:
Efficacy Validation & Scalability
I moved the narrative from empathy to evidence by using biometric sensors to establish a ground truth for stress reduction (correlating heart-rate variability with immersion levels). We further architected a cloud-based content repository on AWS, enabling hands-free navigation of an immersive library.
“Watching the concert as a VR show completely swept Maya away. She was feeling badly from recent chemo and having the glasses and the 360 experience took her away from the yuck that she had been feeling.”
